Welcome to Global Marriage Atlas (MetWed, hereinafter "this platform" or "we"). Before using any services provided by this platform, please carefully read and understand the following terms of service. Your access to or use of this platform's services indicates that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please stop using this platform. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and the modified terms take effect from the date of publication.

1. Service Description

Global Marriage Atlas is a Chinese-language one-stop platform focused on cross-cultural weddings and lifelong marriage management. We provide users with the following main services: in-depth content—professional articles and guides covering wedding processes, marriage laws, and cultural differences across 50 countries; professional tools—including original tools such as the global wedding budget calculator, marriage law interactive map, cultural compatibility test, wedding checklist, and contract generator.

Additionally, we provide an anonymous community service for users to share experiences and support each other in a safe, private environment; and a service matching feature to help users connect with vetted wedding vendors, legal advisors, and psychological counselors. This platform reserves the right to add, modify, or terminate some or all services at any time, and will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance. Some services may only be available to registered members.

2. User Registration

Users registering an account on this platform must be at least 13 years old. Users under 18 should register and use this platform with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. When registering, you need to provide true, accurate, and complete personal information, including a valid email address. You bear full responsibility for any consequences caused by providing false information.

You are responsible for properly safeguarding your account password and for all activities under your account. If you discover that your account has been compromised or has security risks, please notify us immediately. This platform is not responsible for losses caused by your failure to take timely security measures. Each user may only register one account and may not transfer, sell, or lend the account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts when users violate these terms.

3. User Code of Conduct

In serious cases, we will cooperate with judicial authorities to pursue legal liability. Users should understand that cross-cultural marriage topics involve personal privacy and cultural sensitivity, and should treat every community member with respect and goodwill.

4. Content License

The copyright of content posted by users on this platform (including but not limited to community posts, comments, and test result sharing) belongs to the user. By posting content, the user grants this platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the content for display, distribution, promotion, and improvement of platform services. This license terminates when the user deletes the content or cancels the account, except for content already distributed or archived.

Users must ensure that their posted content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights and other legitimate rights. If intellectual property disputes arise from user content, the user bears all legal liability, and this platform does not bear joint liability. After receiving a qualified infringement complaint, this platform will promptly remove the allegedly infringing content. We respect originality and encourage users to cite sources when referencing others' content.

5. Legal Tools Disclaimer

The legal tools provided by this platform (including contract generators, marriage law interactive maps, etc.) are for informational reference and educational purposes only, and do not constitute any form of legal advice or attorney-client relationship. The content generated by legal tools is based on general legal knowledge and templates, has not been reviewed by a professional attorney for your specific situation, and may not be applicable to your individual case.

Legal issues involved in cross-cultural marriage are usually highly complex and regionally different, and the laws of different countries and regions may differ significantly. 6. Service Matching Terms

The vendor matching service provided by this platform is designed to help users discover and connect with professional service providers, including but not limited to wedding planners, legal advisors, psychological counselors, and translation services. This platform acts solely as an information intermediary in such matching relationships, and does not provide any guarantee regarding the service quality, professional capability, or performance of vendors.

Service contracts between users and vendors are independently signed by both parties, and contract terms, service standards, and fees are determined through negotiation. In case of service disputes, they should be resolved through direct negotiation between the user and the vendor. This platform does not bear joint liability for vendor behavior, but will actively assist in communication and coordination upon receiving complaints, and adjust vendor display and recommendations as appropriate. Some matching services may involve platform commissions, and the specific commission rate will be publicly displayed on the service page, and users have the right to know.

7. Membership Subscription Terms

This platform offers both free and paid membership tiers. Paid members can enjoy more advanced features, in-depth content, and exclusive services. Subscription fees are clearly stated on the subscription page, and corresponding permissions are activated immediately after successful payment. The subscription service enables auto-renewal by default, and you can turn off auto-renewal at any time in your account settings. After turning it off, the subscription will not renew after the current period expires.

Regarding the refund policy: if the service cannot be used normally due to platform reasons, we will refund the corresponding fees proportionally. If the user voluntarily cancels the subscription, the current period fees already paid will not be refunded, but the service can continue to be used until the current subscription period expires. In special circumstances (such as accidental purchase, duplicate charges, etc.), please contact customer service within 7 business days, and we will handle it based on the specific situation. All refunds will be returned to the account used for payment.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this platform, including but not limited to articles, images, tool interfaces, databases, logos, design layouts, and software code, is owned by this platform or relevant rights holders, and is protected by Chinese and international intellectual property laws. Without written permission from this platform, no one may copy, reproduce, disseminate, display, or use it for commercial purposes in any way.

"Global Marriage Atlas" and "MetWed" are the brand names and trademarks of this platform and may not be used without authorization. Users may only view and use this platform's content for personal, non-commercial purposes. If you need to use this platform's content for commercial purposes or institutional dissemination, please contact us in advance to obtain authorization. We reserve the right to pursue legal liability for any infringement of this platform's intellectual property rights.

9. Disclaimer

The services provided by this platform are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure and reliable, nor that the services will meet all your expectations and needs. The content of this platform is jointly created by the editorial team and external experts. Although we make every effort to ensure information accuracy, we do not guarantee the absolute accuracy and timeliness of the content.

For any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential losses caused by the use of or inability to use this platform's services, this platform is not responsible to the extent permitted by law. Certain jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In no event shall this platform's liability exceed the total amount of fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the dispute.

11. Terms Modification

We reserve the right to modify these terms of service at any time. When material changes occur, we will notify users in advance through website announcements or email, and mark the update date on the terms page. Material changes include but are not limited to adding user obligations, restricting user rights, or modifying dispute resolution terms.

The modified terms take effect from the date of publication. If you continue to use this platform's services after the terms are updated, it is deemed that you accept the modified terms. If you do not agree with the modified terms, you should stop using the services and apply for account cancellation before the effective date. We recommend that you review these terms regularly to stay informed of any updates. Historical versions of the terms are available upon request.

12. Governing Law

The interpretation and application of these terms of service, and any disputes arising from or related to these terms, are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding conflict of laws principles). Any dispute between users and this platform arising from these terms or service usage should first be resolved through friendly negotiation.

If negotiation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with the people's court having jurisdiction at the place where this platform is registered. If the dispute involves overseas users, both parties may negotiate to choose arbitration. During the dispute resolution period, except for the disputed part, the other terms of these terms remain in effect.
